Almost finished with the tope half and really needing to start working on the Horizontal Stabilizer so I can fill in the tail.
Surface Corrections are smoothing out the surfaces and it is time for micro look to correct the smallest details.
Build day 11, 12 – Now the hard work begins!
It will take everyday after work and on weekends, putting in an hour or two. This process is what I call the Surface Correction Phase. Remember all the ripples? When I added the glass, the ripples were filled in in each zone as I went along. Now, that the glass has made the surface much less flexible and easier to sand, I fill on larger areas were there may be depressions and imperfections. Then sand everything out and start again.
The point of this Surface CorrectionPhase is to get the surface perfectly shaped.
Build day 10 (Sept 1, 2023) – Accidents do happen!
I do have a design for a new aircraft-rotisserie system. Unfortunately, my workshop is not wired for enough amperage to handle my larger Lincoln welders, so for now I use the older method of using an engine hoist. …not ideal, but it works as long as I am careful.
Build day 9 – Glassing the little Epoxy Monster!
Build day 7.8 – I got a lot further than I thought tonight.
BUILD DAY 7 – I finished creating the foam plugs on both top sides.
